We like to keep in touch with you to find out how things are going now you’re an adult.

Who are Fostering People?

We are an Independent Fostering agency and have a number of foster families who live across the country providing family homes for children of all ages.

We are separate to Children’s Services but we work closely with them to make sure you are ok. We want to make sure that you are happy, comfortable and safe during the time you are living with our carers.

We have our own social workers to support you and your foster carer, we have people who we can get advice from about your education and we have groups and get together for you and your carers, so you can have your say.

We provide you with lots of helpful information in these guide, there are two different ones for different ages. They contain lots of useful contact numbers, what to do if you find yourself in a difficult situation and lots of ideas of activities and groups you may wish to get involved in.

Fostering People will also send you magazines from time to time which will let you know what’s going on in Fostering People and for young people enables you to get directly involved.

“You might feel upset or scared when it’s your first time in care, but don’t be scared.  It’s really nice to have someone to look after you.  Remember they are always there for you when you need them.  If you feel sad or you want to talk about something, just tell your foster carer.  Please don’t forget there is nothing to worry about”.  – Z, aged 14.
