My name is Theo and I am in foster care.

I have been in care for close to six years and have noticed how dramatically my life has changed.

I have now started to realise that if I was still living at home with my mother and two sisters: Madison and Scarlet, I would not been on a good path.

Even though I have my ups and downs here with silly/bad behaviour, I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart that without the love and support my foster parents have given me, life would be so different.

I have been given opportunities in which most people our age could only dream of. For instance, in the past six years we have travelled to Greece nine times both by car and plane. Travelling by car is one of the main things I am talking about as not a lot of people can say they have travelled through half of Europe in car can they?

Another example is that I have learned the art of origami to a high standard and can make things most adults can’t make; I did this during lockdown as it stopped me from being stuck to my console all day.

Obviously, there are some implications when being in care but these are there to ensure that you are safe. We all hate them at times but we know deep down why they are in place, so we just deal with it.
