Madison's Story

My name is Madison and I am a foster child.

I am 15 years old. I have been in care for nearly 6 years living with Lisa and Martin. My life has changed a lot since coming into care. It took me a while to get used to the boundaries that Lisa and Martin have put in place. However, when I lived with my mum we didn’t have boundaries so I understand that they have put them in place to make sure I am safe. The thing that has taken the most time to get over is not having my phone in my room.

Since living in care I have travelled abroad to Greece and I have had so many amazing experiences living with Lisa and Martin. I am now in my last year of school and hoping to get all of my exams. I know that if was still living with my mum there wouldn’t be a chance of me achieving them because I never went to school when I lived with her.

Overall, moving into care and living with Lisa and Martin has been the best thing that has ever happened to me.
