I offer supervision and support to foster carers in the North East and contribute to the delivery of an ongoing training schedule.
I hold a certificate in residential work with adolescents, attained in 1997, and I qualified as a social worker in 1999.
I first started my career working with children in 1990 when I worked in a large residential school in Bath, before working for a local youth offending service.
I first became involved in fostering in 2008, working for a local independent fostering agency before moving to Fostering People in October 2009.
The challenges are varied but I enjoy the fact that no two days are the same. I feel very privileged to see the dedication and hard work that our foster carers offer to children and young people in their care. It’s very rewarding to see and hear of triumphs, no matter how large or small.
