I’m Amanda; a senior supervising social worker in the West Midlands and Staffordshire. I’ve worked in social care for eight years, working in support teams and with looked after children for the local authority, and have been with Fostering People since 2011.
At Fostering People, everyone matters and are valued in the work that they do. Being home-based means that my time is well utilised (I don’t have the journey in the car in rush hour to get to work!) and I am readily available to my carers, being able to get to them quickly when needed. The part of my role I enjoy the most is supervising and being part of events, this gives me the opportunity to build up positive relationships with carers and children and, most importantly, have fun!
My children are my greatest achievement. They are amazing in every way. I have a son who is 19, daughter of 17, another who is nine and a new addition who is nearly one. We have some big birthdays this year!
