Since our formation in 2000, we have enjoyed steady but significant growth, maintaining a continual assessment of our functions, foundations and service provision in order to optimise the outcomes we achieve.
How we operate
Fostering People has two offices in Nottingham and Dundee which provide a central resource from which all services are coordinated, including carer recruitment and placements.
We have a network of home-based social workers throughout all areas in which we operate, providing the highest level of locally based support to our foster carers. This helps make Fostering People unique. As one of our foster carers told a local authority commissioner “Before I was with Fostering People if there was a problem I always had to go to them. With Fostering People they come to me, it’s a simple thing but for carers it really makes a difference”.
Changing lives together to deliver positive outcomes.
Working together with local authorities across England and Scotland, Fostering People staff and carers will continue to meet the individual needs of each child or young person. We aim to make a positive and lasting difference to each and every placement and to support looked after children and young people to achieve the best possible outcomes.
We retain our drive to develop as a fostering agency, in both our service provision and areas of coverage.
Our goals at Fostering People are to:
- Be recognised as a local partner
- Expand into new geographical areas across England, Wales and Scotland
- Increase the number of local authority customers
- Increase the stability of our placements
- Increase the number of resilient and trained carers
- Be recognised as outstanding in our inspections by Ofsted and the Care Inspectorate.
