Foster carer training proves a big help for our carers

Feedback from our foster carers that have undergone training in the first six months of this year (January – July 2010) shows extremely positive results.

A total number of 48 foster carer training courses have been held, with 477 carers taking part. Of those 477, an impressive 89% completed feedback.

Feedback was given on the main aspects of the foster carer training, including:

• content of the course
• diversity
• communication with the trainer
• delivery
• duration
• catering and facilities.

Some highlights of the foster carers’ feedback include:

• An overwhelming majority of carers responding very good or good to all of the areas highlighted above.
• All of the carers stated that they would recommend Fostering People’s training courses to others.
• All respondents stated that the course did meet its aims and objectives.
