Transfer to Fostering People
Foster carers currently registered with a Local Authority or another fostering agency are able to transfer to Fostering People.
The process for transferring to Fostering People differs dependent upon your current placement circumstances.
Foster carers with placement(s)
Our policy for transferring to Fostering People considers the looked after child or young person’s best interests. We therefore practice and advise our applicants to practice the very best procedure in line with your current Local Authority or Independent agency’s guidelines for transferring. We also reference and adhere to industry guidelines for transferring.
If you are currently registered to a Local Authority or another fostering agency and wish to transfer to Fostering People, we will still carry out the appropriate assessment process, with the recommendations presented to a Fostering People fostering panel, as per the standard Fostering People application process.
Foster carers without current placement(s)
To join Fostering People you need to give 28 days notice in writing to your existing Local Authority or fostering agency informing them of your wish to resign from that Authority or agency. Please note that Fostering People will contact your current/former agency for a reference once you have made your formal application to join us.
Please call our team on 0800 077 8159 for further information and advice about joining or transferring to Fostering People.
